What does it mean to be a caricature artist? Perhaps talent in drawing can be interpreted as pertaining to the sciences of anatomy and nerves. There must be a natural readiness in the artist's fingers and their ability to translate the accumulated images in their imagination into compositions on the void of paper or canvas. However, that is not enough. Practice and training refine the interpretation model, and all of this can be applied to artists who thrive on depicting natural and architectural scenes in cities like Paris and Mumbai. They appear as neutral cameras adding some artistic tricks like clear shadows or touches that suggest they live in art or elevate slightly above craftsmanship

If Hajjaj is content with half a cigar, you'll find his ashtray filled with halves of tobacco rolls, yet when he grasps his pen, he's not satisfied with half-baked solutions. You see him as an uncompromising extremist, relentlessly driving a knife into the flesh of reality, aiming for the utmost degrees of tragedy.Between half a cigar and the full stance, the brush of "Emad Eid Hajjaj Abu Su'ileik" moves, and this quadruple name may carry meanings that might be hidden at first glance to the observer of the scene. With his brush, honed by practice, experience, and innate intelligence, Emad delves into both the near and distant memory, drawing from the heritage of his great-grandfather, Abu Su'ileik, in Beersheba, and embracing the joy of intuition and insight inherited from his father, "Eid," the skilled translator fluent in Hebrew, trying to reconcile in his life the steadfastness of stance and the allure of scarcity in his surroundings.Hajjaj bore the fruit of this unique confrontation between the elements.

"Emad Hajjaj" visited me when we were both university students, for the purpose of getting acquainted and exchanging pleasantries. In the light of goodwill, I assumed that this impromptu visit would not last more than an hour. However, it soon became clear that "Emad's" goal for the visit was to unload a huge reserve of laziness and lethargy, so he ended up staying with me for two full years. We lived together in a dismal room. Did we have any furniture? Surely, we possessed a pot, evidenced by the dishes we concocted, which resulted in severe indigestion for us and our guests, and later for "Abu Mahjoub" as well. As far as I remember, there was a small, spiteful television set, black and white, entertaining us with its fuzzy screen. There was a coat that "Emad" used as an extra cover on cold nights, and most strangely, there was a teapot and a lamp, tucked away in a corner that none of us thought to inquire about its reason for being there. Dismal in a dismal room, with a complete absence of any form of luxury, yet I can assure you that we never got bored. We amused ourselves with wit and charm, by the way "Emad" was skilled in enlivening spirits with water and sugar. As days passed, I realized that my "heavy" guest was not just an average university student, but a great, rare, and astonishing talent... Say what you will about him, with the hope of adding that he is sincere and close to the pulse of people... Genuine, first and foremost. I'm not praising my friend, but I remember that a whirlwind of vitality resided in my house for two whole years... Thank you, "Emad."

There is no doubt that Emad Hajjaj's brush is a generous one, and this generosity extends to his thoughts and observations of daily life in the Jordanian-Palestinian society, and beyond to the Arab and international community. The cartoon scene in Emad Hajjaj's work is a rich one, filled with detailed impressions that leave nothing unexplored or overlooked. It's like being invited to a feast. When you sit at the table, you find it bustling not only with main dishes but with everything you expect from appetizers and more.
